Some of you may know my daughter in law and some may not. Mandie Ryan is one of the strongest people I know. She’s been fighting an aggressive cancer called Synovial Sarcoma for 4 1/2 years now. Through some of the Strongest chemotherapy available 61 rounds of radiation and seven surgeries she has continued Stay optimistic and live life to its fullest. But now with her second surgery this year on top of weekly clinical trial rounds since January in Boston things are getting tight. So in order for her and my son to make it through this difficult time with the oncoming holiday season I am asking for any help from the community every little bit anyone can donate will help seeing as for now the treatments have no end date.

The Five College Early Music Program will be holding its patented Painless Auditions the first week of classes. These are open to students, faculty and members of the community. The relevant information follows. We would be grateful for any publicity you can provide.
The Five College Early Music Program welcomes students, faculty, and community members interested in auditioning to SING or PLAY in one or more ensembles, including the COLLEGIUM choir, BAROQUE ORCHESTRA (modern string players and adventurous pianists are encouraged to try this!) and chamber music, MEDIEVAL and RENAISSANCE ensembles and VOCES FEMINAE. The auditions are "painless" experiences, held at all the campuses. Performances sponsored by the program feature baroque and Renaissance music played on modern and period instruments and sung in historically-informed style. Consider beginning RECORDER, VIOLA DA GAMBA, LUTE or RENAISSANCE TROMBONE! We also offer instruction on period instruments (recorders, sackbut, viol, lute, etc.) for modern players, in beginning ensembles and lessons. Credit is available for ensembles and lessons for MHC, UMass and HC.

I have plans to drive my car back to California in mid-August and am looking for someone to travel with. I would prefer someone who is younger, no older than 40, responsible but easygoing to share the ride with. Men are prefered as it would make me feel safer, but i open to female companions, if we get along. Again, this would be for mid august, looking to leave around the 15th. Persons with travel experience, esp across the Midwest is a plus.
Please email jfdzialo@gmail.com or call 413-474-0754 and ask for Julie. I will ask potential candidates to meet in person beforehand.

If you are searching for dog day care, boarding, training, or grooming, I highly recommend the newly opened Wagging Tails Pet Resort in Hadley. https://www.waggingtailspetresort.net
This is my personal review as seen on Yelp and Google:
"Our 9 month old English Cocker Spaniels first visit for some doggy day care, followed by a full grooming went great! Gracie is shy and hasn’t been around many other dogs. She made some new dog friends and had a blast playing with them in the outdoor play area. Then she was completely pampered by the groomer. Her groomer was very gentle, knowledgeable, and did an absolutely wonderful cut. Thank you Chris for the great experience at Wagging Tails. Gracie will definitely be back for more fun and pampering.”
Sarah Clay And The Magic Band 1794 Meetinghouse July
Florence, MA: On Saturday July 14, the 1794 Meetinghouse presents Sarah Clay & The Magic Band. As part of an annual summer concert series at this historic venue, vocalist and flutist Sarah Clay breathes new life into American songs of the early 20th century: Swing, Blues, Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz.
Clay leads The Magic Band, comprised of Bob Ferrier (guitar), Steve Bulmer (bass) and Ed Brainerd (flugelhorn). “These guys are the best – fabulous jazz musicians!” says Clay. “With just a glance, a gesture, we share ideas wordlessly, sparks fly, and the music is transformed. Simply magical. That’s why I call them The Magic Band. So much fun – we have a blast, and so will you!”
For more information about the 1794 Meetinghouse, visit www.1794Meetinghouse.com. For more information about Sarah Clay, visit www.clayjazz.com. JUSTICE.
As a teenager, I had an encounter with Bill Cosby in downtown Manhattan, 1965. Like so many, I was a huge fan. It was when he was still new at TV stardom and possibly not as practiced in the dark "art" of sexual predation as he would become. I was very naive and had more luck than brains - I was not harmed, only creeped out by his predatory behavior toward me.
All these years, I've had no doubt that under that mask of the fun Dad, there lurked a serial rapist. I deeply feel for all the women he did violate over the years, but I am gratified that they finally get - if not their own personal justice, at least some of the validation they've so long been denied. #MeToo!
