I had a wonderful experience with Green Earth Computers in Northampton. My Powerbook computer died on January 15th. Since the computer was 7 years old, I didn't have a lot of hope that it could be saved, but I brought it to Green Earth, hoping for a miracle.
They weren't at all confident that it could be saved either, but they tested it thoroughly, found it was only hard drive failure and were able to recover all the data (I had a fairly recent backup, but there was some non-essential data I hadn't yet back up that I hoped could be recovered). Since it was a high end laptop, they felt I could get a few more years out of it with a new hard drive.
So with the new hard drive and full data recovery, it cost me $225.
Excellent service. Very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
 

Looking to have a water filter put in, rather complicated... Need a good though not too expensive plumber recommendations who will come to Ware for installation.

I am looking for moving help (from East Amherst to North Amherst). Also looking for help to move furniture that was put in the wrong place by original movers within the house. The majority of the furniture has already been moved. Just a few pieces left and odds and ends.

Interested in feedback positive or critical on MetLife through UMass. I just received bills from my current insurance company and they are rather high. No accidents, speeding tickets or claims. Bills always paid in full on time. When I called they could not come up with a good answer on why.

Service is important so I am willing to pay more for good service. Just not a whole lot more. I did the on line estimate tool and the MetLife auto insurance is significantly cheaper than what I am paying now. But that could be just a come on.

I use First Advantage in Greenfield and I think they are great. Both dentists are talented and I trust them with fillings and crowns. The dental hygenists are also skilled, professional and knowledgeable. I switched to the Greenfield office after my confidence waned because of multiple t staffing changes in First Advantage-Northampton office.

My daycare just moved to a larger facility and now has a few openings. I can not say enough wonderful things! Here is their information.

Large family childcare just over the Amherst line on RT 9 in Belchertown has expanded. We now have full time and part-time openings. Our hours are 8-4:30 with some flexibility.

Hi - I recently got overly ambitious about my home improvement abilities by removing cove base in my bathroom. I managed to remove the trim but in the process did some fairly extensive damage to the drywall (torn drywall paper). I'm looking for a handy man/contractor that I can hire to fix my mess and also lay a new ceramic tile floor. I need someone that I can trust who will do decent work at a fair price. Thanks.

To the person who suggested City Vacuum in Chicopee (recently moved from Springfield) THANK YOU!!! The guy who runs the shop was GREAT and it took him 2 minutes to put a new belt on my old vacuum cleaner. And it only cost $20 total for the repair plus 3 new vacuum bags. I can't recommend him highly enough!
 

Hello! This wonderful list helped me out a while ago with recommendations for minor vacuum repair (I think my old Hoover Windtunnel vac just needs a new belt but I don't know how to change it myself and don't want to send it away to be looked at, which often costs the same as a new one!).
