Hi! Are you interested in making some extra money? If you are like me your answer is probably yes or sure.
I personally can't speak for anyone else but I work everyday, week, month and year to pay the never ending bills (car payments, rent, every day essentials like gas, oil, elec, cable, internet, etc.) and never seem to have any extra money to do something for myself. Living on that bi-weekly paycheck is hard considering my money is always spent before I earn it. Then that cycle starts again wondering how I will get through the next two weeks. Will I have enough money for food or gas for the car. If only I could really get my full gross payment would I maybe be set, but alas there all the deductions that have to come out. Until three weeks ago, my husband was out of work for five months with medical issues. He was able to get a little (and I mean little) amount of money from disability insurance through his work. On top of the little money received it was only a once a month check. More stress on me (the bill payer in the family) trying to make ends meet. Once he was finally able to try and go back to work, he was told that the company (conveniently) eliminated the position he was doing. Great - now he has no job and no disability insur. income coming in. Talk about stress - no wonder why my hair is going gray.
What if I could tell you that there is a way of making money just by doing the thing you already do - paying your bills (elec, gas, cable, internet, home phone, cell phone, etc). Sounds to good to be true right? Well it's not.
My son recently introduced me to a very successful Independent Business Owner who has recently relocated back to the New England area and is trying to expand their business here and share in this opportunity. UMassSafe, a traffic safety research program, in the Transportation Engineering department, is looking to hire 2 students for a 4 week, 40 hr/wk position to begin June 3rd and continue until June 28th. Pay for this position is $10.00/hr with generous travel reimbursement.
The primary task for these research assistants will be to collect field data for the Annual Statewide Seat Belt Observation Study sponsored by MassDOT and NHTSA. Students will go out in teams of two and spend up to 12 hours per day in the field, traveling across the state and standing outside observing traffic and recording data on seat belt & cell phone usage.
Requirements:
• Full-time undergraduate student (no May graduating seniors)
• Enjoy being outside
• Have housing available within 20 minutes to Amherst

The Franklin County Home Care Corporation Seeks Volunteers.
FCHCC's Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Program is looking for volunteers to work as Surrogates for PCA clients who need support to manage the program. The PCA program allows individuals with disabilities to receive help in their home with activities of daily living. Some clients need help managing the program due to their disabilities. These volunteers are called Surrogates. Clients live throughout Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden counties.
The Surrogate's Role:
1. Meet with the client in their home once every two weeks to review the PCA worker's time sheet for accuracy.
2. May assist the client in hiring and supervising PCA caregivers.
3. Meet quarterly and/or annually with the client and FCHCC staff for scheduled visits.
A minimum commitment of one year is required.
