I am posting on behalf of my daughter, Vyanna and friends at Pioneer Valley Performing Arts school with a unique & time-sensitive
request. We are looking for fundraising heroes to help ‘Save The Music’. Specifically: PVPA’s
ambitious music ‘We Came To Play’ music department tour to Virginia happening April 6—
PVPA’s four music ensembles (Jazz, Rock, Pop and Acapella ensembles) comprised of 65 student
have come together to create one incredibles communal show. Our bags are packed, the hotels
and buses are booked, and we are ready to go. We are already booked to perform three full length
shows in VA, including one at the famous Busch Gardens. We will also be conducting a half-day
workshop at the Waller Mill Magnet Elementary School, where we will teach students about making
music as a group, and then perform for them.
April Tour In Jeopardy Of Being Cancelled!
The beloved head of our music department, Frank Newton, has had a vision of taking our tour
on the road for many years, and took on the huge task of organizing for the past year to make
this vision a reality.
Unfortunately, we were just informed that our major funding source is no longer available.
The entire tour is in jeopardy of being cancelled just two weeks before we’re supposed to
hit the road! Our students have been rehearsing and working non-stop the entire school year to
create this wonderful show. We will NOT give up now. We are determined to save it. That’s
where you come in.
How You Can Be A Music Hero
We are tasked with raising $26,000 in just a matter of days (the bus deposit is due on
Monday, TODAY, March 26, 2018). The good news? We think this is actually possible. The response to
our plight has been swift, and the outpouring of support heartening. We are asking friends,
family, alumni, businesses, benefactors and supporters of students and music lovers
everywhere to donate what they can to the nonprofit ‘Friends Of PVPA’ so our students’
dreams of going on this tour can stay alive.
BECOME A HERO - SAVE PVPA’S APRIL MUSIC TOUR
Your contribution will make an immeasurable difference not only to our PVPA community, but to
our students and the people we will be playing for. All donations are tax deductible, and can be
made through the ‘Friends of PVPA’ via PayPal or credit card.

I just want to recommend the Monarch’s Restaurant and Magic Wings in South Deerfield. We had a shower there this weekend. The food was good and plentiful. Chris and his staff were great. Kathy Fiore was good to work with. They do small parties to weddings. Check them out. (just breakfast etc. is good too!)
Year Old Boy Asking For Chrismas Cards For Christmas
My partner forwarded this weblink from the Western Ma News website about an 8 yr old quadraplegic boy who expressed a wish for Christmas cards to decorate his room at the St. Joseph's Home in Cincinnati.
Please take a moment to read the story at the link below.
His mailing address is in the story. I hope you will join me in taking a moment to write an extra card when you are doing them for your family and friends, to help make this boy's simple Christmas wish come true.

I don't know if anyone replied to your post. I don't know about the tree service you mentioned but I just had a tree removed by Dostal Tree Service from Florence, Ma.
I highly recommend Dan Dostal and crew. Dan was very prompt on returning phone calls. Professional and friendly and very reasonable. My property was left very clean after they were done. Very satisfied.
I sing in a local band which plays international folk dance music, and I'm trying to learn a beautiful song. The piece is called "GORANI", and is Armenian.
Does anyone in the Five College community read or understand Armenian? I have only a hard-to-read hand-written transliteration of the lyrics; I wonder if anyone could provide me with more readable ones. Having fine points on pronunciation and a translation as well would help tremendously. I'd like to do it justice when I perform it.
Feel free to pass this message along, if you know someone who might speak and/or understand Armenian. Here is the haunting "GORANI":
